Quick Maple-Cinnamon Pecan Brittle

These sweet-savory nut bites make a tasty snack or cocktail nibble. They also add a nice crunch to salads or, wrapped up with a pretty bow, make a lovely homemade gift. You can substitute other nuts, such as walnuts, to the recipe.

1 EGG WHITE

¼ CUP MAPLE SYRUP

1 TEASPOON SALT

1 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON

2 CUPS PECAN HALVES

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg white, maple syrup, salt, and cinnamon. Add the pecan halves, and toss to coat.

3. Transfer the pecan mixture to the prepared baking sheet, and spread it out in a single layer.

4. Bake until the nuts are nicely browned, about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.

5. Break the brittle into pieces and serve immediately, or store in an airtight container on the countertop for up to 1 week.
